Investment Details

• Stocks
  • A type of security that signifies ownership in a corporation and represents a claim on part of the corporation's assets and earnings.
• Bonds
  • A debt investment with which the investor loans money to an entity (company or government) that borrows the funds for a defined period of time at a specified interest rate.
• Mutual Funds
  • A security that gives small investors access to a well-diversified portfolio of equities, bonds and other securities. Each shareholder participates in the gain or loss of the fund. Shares are issued and can be redeemed as needed.
• Retirement Accounts
  • A personal savings plan that offers tax advantages to save and invest for retirement.
• Money Markets
  • Money market securities are essentially IOUs issued by governments, financial institutions, and large corporations. These instruments are very liquid and considered extraordinarily safe. Because they are extremely conservative, money market securities offer significantly lower return than most other securities.
• Certificates of Deposits
  • A savings certificate entitling the bearer to receive interest. A CD bears a maturity date, a specified interest rate and can be issued in any denomination. CDs are generally issued by commercial banks.
• Real Estate Investment Trust
  • A security that sells like a stock on the major exchanges and invests in real estate directly, either through properties or mortgages.
• Annuities
  • An annuity is essentially a level stream of cash flows for a fixed period of time. It is most often used as a form of income during retirement.
• Financial Planners
  • A qualified investment professional who assists individuals and corporations meet their long-term financial objectives by analyzing the client's status and setting a program to achieve these goals. They are specialized in tax planning, asset allocation, risk management, retirement and/or estate planning.
• Money Management
  • The process of budgeting, saving, investing, spending or otherwise in overseeing the cash usage of an individual or group. The predominant use of the phrase in financial markets is that of an investment professional making investment decisions for large pools of funds, such as mutual funds or pension plans.
• Educational Savings Plan
  • A plan that allows for the prepayment of qualified higher education expenses at eligible educational institutions. Also known as a "qualified tuition program."
• Retirement Planning
  • A process involving all aspects of financial planning that helps an individual understand the resources available — and the additional resources that must be accumulated — to support an anticipated retirement lifestyle.
• Unit Investment Trust
  • An investment vehicle which is funded at the beginning and once investments are acquired acts like a liquidating investment. For example, corporate bonds, sovereign bonds, or mortgage backed securities would be acquired. The interest, principal repayments and accelerated payments would be passed on to the investors. These funds would not be retained by the fund for further investment. It is more nearly analogous to a closed-end fund and different from an open-ended fund.
• Estate Planning
  • The process of planning the transfer of all personal assets at death to chosen beneficiaries.
